I'm pretty sure she feels the same way, judging by her love of bindles.
At any rate, with both of us in our late 20s and no passport stamps to our names, we figured it was past time for us to cross the pond and find out if there's anything over here.
So we booked a flight with Air Canada (mistake No. 1.), toughed it out and landed in London's Heathrow last Friday. After a short visit with our friend Harriet in London, we made a mad dash for our train (cut it extremely close and almost didn't make it, in fact. THANKS changing of the guard!) and here we are in Paris!
Now we have two passport stamps! Huzzah!
Foolishly, we didn't eat much yesterday and didn't have time to stop at a bakery or anything. So we're going on some ice cream and muffins. Oooh la la! We feel we deserve the pain du chocolate or whatever baked/cheesy delights Paris will offer us today. I'm sure actual Parisians would turn their noses up at buying croissants this late in the morning, but I would eat a stale baguette right now.
We're in the 10th arrondissement in a (tiny!) apartment near Canal-St. Martin. It's a beautiful area and we're lucky because we have a tiny kitchenette so we can bring food back to prepare and eat and store. Hopefully, we'll both write more about our adventures in London later. But today, after finding some food, we're going to head out to Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
The second school bell just rang, probably to call the kids back after recess. At least, I hope we're near a school. It's either that or Parisians slaughter children in the morning.
Until tomorrow....
